Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

I need your help!

Okay so I was kindly asked to not only be featured in an upcoming issue of a magazine but I was also asked to contribute a tip in an even sooner issue.

So here is my question for everyone, taking my artwork into consideration, is there any question of how I have done something that has crossed or does cross your mind when you look at what I do?

I have one idea for my tip but I would love to get some feedback from people on the other side of my artwork. Some of the stuff I do is so natural for me that I don't realize I do it anymore.

maybe -- the process -- a tip on how you start -- and create the final product -- not every step -- but what goes through your mind -- what your imagination starts to see differently and how you choose what should be apart of the final product -- later days

I focused on a few technique tips and a simple Photoshop tip.

To be honest, sometimes I have no idea what I am doing when I create, I am so far in the zone that I almost forget what I'm doing!
