my first pinned insect. a gold scarab beetle from indonesia.

took about 3 days to relax him (re-hydrate him so that he could be positioned, and so his wings could be opened) and about an hour to pin and position him. after he is dry im going to mount him in a small double sided glass frame.

purchased on ebay. there are many companies who catch and i think moreso breed insects like this and many others for study.
