the majority of this wallpaper was actually created about 6 months ago in my older style, i never finished it so i dug it up last week and tried to see what i could do with it now since my style is changing up quite a bit lately.

i think it came out really good. i have a new obsession with the color red.

this wallpaper was originally going to be my 'print-only' piece but have since decided against that and to just release it like normal. although i do plan on doing a few print-only pieces while still releasing walls like normal. i couldnt decided which to do so i am doing them both =)

tools used in this image: my old sony cybershot dsc-s30 camera for the photography at the top (my girlfriend, ryane) and photoshop.

all lower resolutions available at [link]

comments much appreciated...

check out my prints! [link]

thanks to everyone for all thier continuing support throughout the 6 years i have been doing this... also big thanks to deviantart (jark, you rock man. you always leave comments for me and while i may not reply to all of them i do read them and appreciate them ;) )

good vertical style.. it's very personal.. like the much of detail in just that little space and the red flood is agressively good too ;)

Yes, the red half is definatly too aggressive.
This somehow reminds me to this huge alien beam in Independence day. I love your icecold razorsharp style, man.
I always roar "YEAH" when you release something new.

the lower red is too strong... try lowering the saturation or\and the lightness. nice work anyway :)

i love the top, dark, half however the blood riddled lower half seems to lose its appeal because of the color.

You always seem to achieve a fasinating level of complexity with your creations. What do you use to make all the 2D in your works? Photoshop? I ask only because I have been trying(trying would be the key word) to use 2D in my creations.....

ohhh! A submission from you! i thought you were dead :| Great work though indeed, i love the red too, and that must have been alot of layers or was that just a heap of brushwork? Anyway.. its stunning and amazing. Thanks for the wallpaper clap:

not dead at all!

i had 2 releases last month.

i think this is an all time high for me, to release 3 completely new wallpapers within the timespan of one month. its been a while since i have done that.

TONS of layers... actually spread across 2 psd files. the older wallpaper had a lot of layers, then i just took that flat image and kept messing with it with more layers.

layers are god.

thanks for the comments =)

hm i think it would've been a really great pic but somehow that bright red isn't really my cup of tea... a bit darker and it would've been my new wallpaper in no time but well... can't love em all can i? ;)

hehe, you know if you invert the images you see the colours in opposite places...compliment colours. so it's not really a new obsession, more an inverse one?

the red gives a really flaming, living, 3d feel to this. being so vibrant it makes me screen go nuts...well, hard to explain.

i see some kind of super 3d techno sci-fi elevator/shuttle. metroid. the eyes look like owl eyes and look a bit out of place with all that grungy/metallic chaos?

i love the metroid mention too =)

OMG A CELEBRITY AKNOWLEDGED MY EXISTANCE

i mean..thank you.

i've managed to kill my ego (almost...), and thoughts of others egos. (you seemed like a egoistic antisocial iwannabelikeddr motherfucker, but i felt like commenting on the images anyway)

in the process my non-ego (talking-part) mind has increased.

photosig encourages that, in some ways [link]

i try not to be egotistical. if i come off as that way, please let me know.

most people think i am for some reason. i dont get it.

the last person who did i was actually in an online message board argument with and in his drunken state he posted his phone #, i called him and ended up talking to him. he realized i wasnt an "egotistical asshole' like he thought.. haha.

be forewarned... dont post your phone number... i just might call it =)

heh, very few people don't have multiple manifested personalities (to suit the environment, intentionally or not)

as in sexual, professional, artistic, job

and then it's the problem we only (mostly) communicate in text, then people fill out so much with their imigination, so just the smallest words can mean 1000 words to some people. (the most controversial i can think of would be "untitled" )

i sound like freud/nitzhzhshitcantspellit, this is scary :o

Whatever people say, that style is still very nice, in my opinion. The red is a bit too much 'in the face' for me, but maybe that's a good thing :)

i must say that i like it... you are practicly starting a theme like The White Stripes. red, black or white in their case. a little too much red for my taste. but that is just me... would not want to get shot now would i ;)
