For those interested, here is the source image that I used to abstract from to create this piece: Anchor Source Image

Created in Adobe Photoshop from a single photograph I took.

I will be giving a live 45 minute Photoshop session THIS Saturday at the DeviantArt 10th Birthday Bash in LA where I will be explaining pretty much all the techniques used in this piece. But I will be creating something completely different. Come out!

Like always, all standard and widescreen sized wallpapers are available at my website, EndEffect.

No this actually isn't the piece I was working on, I completed this the week before.

The piece I was working on at the Birthday Bash is very close to being complete, I will have it up in a few days.

Anyways, this is a very nice for what looks like a banner.

Dude. It was a ton of fun. Although I kind of hid myself in front of the laptop I was using for most of the night because I was determined to finish my piece. I met $Moonbeam13 who was awesome, saw lolly who I haven't seen since the Summit. Hung out with $liquisoft quite a bit, met $endosage for the first time. Talked with $spyed quite a bit.

The tutorial was really fun and I actually wasn't nervous at all while I was doing it. The only bad thing was that my Flip camera died on me 10 minutes into the tutorial so that is all I have, plus some random clips my friend took on his camera. I am going to try and put them together then get them uploaded asap.

I will be making a pretty large journal entry here on my 10th anniversary which is in 4 days about the Summit, the Bash, and everything DA. Look out for it! ;D

I really, really wanted to go mostly because I wanted to meet Danie  Plenty of opportunities though, and I kind of want to meet her for the first time in less... chaotic circumstances.

Ryan has a really, really, really firm handshake :B

Did you do a lot of talking during the tutorial? I TRIED making some video tutorials, which I'll put up soon, and I always begin with "I just... can't talk while I'm painting. So I'll explain, and then you guys watch... and... well that's it really."

So you took a bunch of photos then? :eager:

Yes, Danielle was awesome. It was pretty chaotic though, towards the end of the night I had the opportunity to give her a sweaty goodbye hug, lol, I think she was dancing beforehand.

I concur about Ryan. I was really glad we hung out and talked because he comes off completely different online, to me at least. He is a really awesome guy.

The tutorial talking thing is exactly how you described it! At the beginning I told everyone that I was probably not going to talk much, and to ask questions when I got quiet. I probably talked for maybe 10 minutes total out of the 45.

I actually didn't take many photos but my fiance did. You can see them on her FB here, [link]!/album.php?aid=2055150&id=1312682396

I always thought Danielle's kind of hot. Something to do with the bone structure. I hope she sees this too.

Dude I don't do FB :(

LOL! Hopefully she does!

I will get the pics up somewhere else, I planned on doing that anyway. But that is where she put them first.

It's too bad most of your work can't be truly enjoyed without getting to look at a large print or the original full resolution image. :D

My old school panel is at the same time, but I REALLLLLY want to see how this is done. I assume everything will be recorded and available online?

We have Ustream feeds going from choice webcams in the venue.
There are feeds covering the following areas:

- Main Stage
- Tutorial Area
- Art Wall (1 & 2)
- Arts & Crafts room

So you'd be able to grab the webcam video later on, I think. Keep in mind this will be a stationery camera, though.
